Help! One of my hens is showing signs of imbalance - her left leg seems to be completely paralyzed, yet no sign of damage or wound.
Her stomach seems enlarged (with a wound) and one large vein is standing out in a severely odd way along the center of her belly.

She's still trying to drink and eat - I've separated her from the hens in the coop, however she's lethargic and struggling to stand, move about, eat on her own, etc...

She did not receive the Merck's vaccine, however I heard older birds do not get this disease very often.

Any suggestions on how to save her? She's a Rhode Island Red and has served us so well in lovely eggs and a great temperament. I feel like I can't help her... I don't know what's going on? Merck's? Botulism? I don't have any others in the flock with any symptoms... it's heart breaking - any suggestions, greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
