41 degrees this morning!

I don't mind the cooler weather but it depresses me when it's combined with overcast, grey skies - which is what we have here right now. I'm so bummed. My sister and I were going to go to a vineyard today, drink wine and enjoy the mountain scenery but we decided to reschedule since it rained a lot last night, it's cool, wet and grey.

Oh well. At least I didn't have to water the flowers this morning!

41 degrees? We may hit 41 degrees here 5 times a year (slight exageration). It is 12:30 here and my thermometer in the patio says 95 in the shade. I am ready for fall which is usually around mid October for a nice 75 degree day. I was born where it snows but we moved to Calif when I was 3 so I didn't remember it. Last January I experienced my first snow storm, in Idaho. What do you do with your chickens when it snows? Do they adapt to cold weather, or do you have to heat their coops etc?

WE had rain yesturday and a high of 62, this morning we were at 46. I can totally relate I had to put up heat lamps to finish drying birds last night. Our show is this weekend and now I have feathers from molting birds EVERYWHERE!!

Bring on the fall and winter, I will take it any day over the hot and humid weather because I too just can't seem to take it anymore. Definately a big difference this week and fall it certainly in the air. Even the animals are jumping for joy!

You do realize I live in ARIZONA!!! Next to New Mexico and parts of Texas I think we are one of the hottest states in the nation! Our summer weather started this year in March. Oh yes, it hit over 100* in MARCH!!! It doesn't start to consistantly cool down here until about mid October. But, I really can't complain when we have a clear winter with little rain and an average temperature of 75* for about 6 months! And that is why I stay!!! If I can just make it thru the heat. Thanks for keeping me laughing! And please package up some of the cool weather and send it my way!

I agree with souther28chick, I think it was 82 degrees here this am!! We had a hard freeze here the weekend of Easter and then it turned to like 100 degrees overnight. We have had 100+ for like 2 weeks and had .19 inches of rain since July. My grass is dead, my trees are dying and my water bill is getting as high as the electric bill. Ugh, I'm ready for PLEASANT weather.

You do realize we live on the east coast and have days with 100% humidity!!!! Y'all on the west coast don't know hot until you have wet, sticky hot. I'll package up some humidity for you so your hair can stick to your neck and your pants can stick to your butt and sweat when you're standing still.
