Thanks to the bountiful laying of the ladies, we're eating quiche tonight. I'm making mini quiches in cupcake pans, and making up extras for snacks for the boys and myself.
Bacon (NOM!)
Ham
Mushroom
Eggs (duh)
seasonings (garlic, chives, onion bits, parsley, cilantro and umm, I think that's it)
Milk

Crustless, I'm not a fan of crust and too lazy to make the crust anyways, lol.

Another yummy egg treat is eggs in a nest... Cupcake pan, put a slice of ham lunch meat in there (I put two), a slice of cheese, then you can add pieces of bacon or mushroom, then crack the egg inside. The ham slice has to go first to help prevent it from sticking, because egg stuck in a pan is the WORST thing to clean out, EVER! Just be careful that you don't add too much if you have regular sized cup cakes, because it's very easy to overflow it, even with just the ham and cheese! Mom bought me some of those supersized muffin pans so that I could fit all of my junk into them under the eggs, lol. Oh, and cook until the egg looks somewhat over easy, but not TOO much (it'll look like it's not cooked completely, but that's okay, it's done!)

More eggs were tossed as we reached the end of day 7. Lots of eggs were kept! Dividers for bators was discussed--use plastic canvas craft material instead of card board.

Also discussed was using a liner on the bottom of the bator. some use paper towers under burlap while others are using rubber shelf liner(for silverware drawers and etc.). It was pointed out that the liner can be cleaned in a washing machine when it gets too soiled.

Razadia got more advice on what to do with her Rooster named Red, including the observation that his spurs had been removed which often puts the Roo out of the "mood"

poor boy! Later in the new day(12/19), Razadia posted that she found a new job for Red! He is now going to be Bob Cat bait!

CelticOaks continued to post Goose pictures, which made us want them even more!

You can harvest down from them to make pillows! Use that to get permission to have them!

Brechin got a very poorly packed box of hatching eggs in the mail. I hope the wax works. Of real significance, she has moved hatching eggs into lockdown! We will see how her Tech Device works! She later posted that the eggs that made round trips between Alaska and California had 6 of 12 developing!

Then it was morning!
LL
Coffeemama7 had a dead Rouen hen, cmfarm had a temp drop in the bator, Sweetly Silkies bumped the bator while vacuuming, Pele did not drop any eggs into the bator and mstricer lost a Turkey Hen! Bettacreek had a turkey run out into the road!

Post 4106 has the Day 8 development post! Thanks Brookhavens! 13 Days Till Hatch!

The Broody Hen killed Aspens just hatched Duckling

mstricer announced a prize contest for Sally Sunshine which she will win if she has more that 269 posts for 5 straight days(she better get busy, she did not post that many yesterday).

Sweetly Silkies shared a great story about her Roo that survived a predator attack! (post 4202)

Mrheinz77 has to work tonight plowing--getting ready for a blizzard! Pray that the power stays on

I'm making Meringues Cookies with chocolate chips tonight because I have eggs to use and these are oh, so delicious. My only issue is trying to figure out how many silkie and bantam egg whites I need to use to equal one large egg. I guessed and came up with 2 for 1.

I'll let you know how they turn out tomorrow, since it takes a long time to bake them.

How long do you guys wait to throw out eggs that don't appear to be deveoping? I don't trust myself to do it today, but when should I know for sure?
