4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

This sounds like so much fun, but unfortunately I don't have an incubator.
So I'll lurk and live vicariously through you guys.

LOL and I am finally getting eggs from my girls, too!!!  Dorkings but there are two Roos...dominant roo is dorking, but the barnevelder is actually starting to be interested in girls.
I wonder what a dorking/barnevelder cross would look like:eek:

Maybe one of them will decide to go broody on me before the 11th.

or (!!!)  maybe I can incubate an egg in my bra...that's gotta get me some kind of prize if it actuallly hatched out.

Someone tried that last year, didn't they?

how do you sleep if your bra is your bator?

you have me rolling laughing histarically!!

what if I just spent most of my time on an excercize bike...I could get in shape, too!!! kill two birds with one...oh wait that didn't come out right...

I'm really hoping that the lady I asked to buy Serama eggs from will have some available for the hatch, LOL. It's just not the easiest time of year for eggs! The birds think they should have a vacation too or something?? LOL

I guess Trader Joe's will be my backup, LOL
Who are you getting your Serama eggs from? Mine are coming from Crazypetlady. I've wanted to hatch some of her eggs since I fist saw a pic of her birds during the Easter hatch this year.

I've done it and someone tried to do it during the Easter hatch. There's also a thread where someone did it. One of the main problems is that it becomes uncomfortable after the first few hours.

On another note, I may or may not be online for the next few days other than to check in and make sure I keep up with the thread. I finally got a game that came out last year by trading in a brand new one that came out about two weeks ago. It disappointed me, so I gave it up for one I knew wouldn't since it's basically just a remastering of a game I played a LOT when I was younger. (if you know anything about Xbox games feel free to ask what it is, if you can't guess.) Other than that I'm getting up early tomorrow to help my mom cook the rest of our Thanksgiving dinner (lunch really). We've been slowly making everything. Dad cooked the ham today and I got to try out our now fixed stove (digital parts on a stove are a very bad idea) by cooking Devil's Food cake. I learned my lesson last year to never use fresh eggs in it because it makes it TOO rich. Mom will be cooking the turkey in the morning along with several other things

One of our three ducks passed away a few days ago. He was about six or seven years old, which i consider old for a Peking. I hate to sound like this, but now that he's gone maybe Ducky will start laying and stop being a freeloader.

The evil roo known as Red was "fixed" today. We ended up sawing his spurs off (Look dad, no blood!) and when I put him back in the pen he ran from me. Which is exactly what I wanted. I think I've run from him enough, it's his turn.

Well, that's it for my update. Maybe my next one will have a pic of my fiance (who wanted nothing to do with my chickens) and his beloved chick Bob the BA/RIR!
