and I agree, there should be a Canadian swap thread! I have just set up a facebook site for Canadian fanciers so we'll probably be doing some of that there too!

I have a third egg pipped now, but still waiting on #2 to hatch. The first chick rolled it over on it's face so it has to work harder.

This is 1-1-2012
's first chick for me.
The others started yesterday and all but one hatched. One hatching now.
This one isn't real wet so I think if hatched shortly after I fell asleep. That was a little after 12. Should have stayed up just a bit longer. They are in my bathroom so I can't believe it didn't wake me.

Here is when they started yesterday.

3 black and blue that was stuck to the shell. One more black in first pic for 5.


I use an almost "dry" hatch method and normally start getting pips at day 18. they are always developed, just early. I knew they would prob all hatch yesterday.


Is this even the correct place to post the pics for the new hatches?




I started with 10, 1 still hatching, lost 3. 5 in the brooder.

Ok, this time I know I actually heard it! I heard a tiny little peep! I put my ear to the bator and heard a slight tapping... Check again in an hour or so....

My first official NYD hatch! Born at 1:05, but we couldn't get hubby's cell phone to stay on so it took until 1:07 to take the pic so 1:07 it is. Not a contender, but I still wanted to post! First Canadian NYD chick by chance?
