4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

Awww, that really is a cute picture! Must be ducks? They imprint on the first being they see, LOL.

Say, I was wondering if I missed anyone's Emus hatching? Where are the Emus? If they were posted, I missed them 'cause I'm always falling behind, LOL
I think a couple people set them, but not for the NYD hatch. I've been following along pretty well and I haven't read anything about emu eggs hatching either.

Haha, one of my babies randomly popped spots! I looked into the brooder and was like "um... who switched out mah chickin?"

I bet this guy is the Godzilla chicken too. Adorable little weirdo :p

Oh my gosh! My 2 babies look just like yours! They are white with some bright yellow coloring and a few small blue spots. They came from eggs that were meant for eating, and I think if I remember right, yours did too. Do you have any idea what they'll be? I'm only seeing white feathers so far. Oh and I didn't notice the spots on mine until yesterday, hahaha.

Sadly, Weeble died overnight... It doesn't surprise me. I read the article on mushy chicks last night, and with her growing weaker, I figured she probably would not be alive in the morning... Now to tell the kids... :(

I wish I had read that article earlier... I don't suppose there is anything I could have done, but at least we would have been prepared. Poor girl... That means my mystery chick count it down to 1.

Everyone in the brooder is doing great! So that's good news...

Sorry Weeble didn't make it.

I am going back to sleep everyone...I hope I'll wake to more chicks! Goodnight!

I think we stress ourselves out so much over these hatches and then when the "high" wears off our bodies just need to recoup. I remember my first hatch ever I didn't sleep for almost 2 days I was so excited. On the 3rd day I was so exhausted that I when I finally went to sleep I had several more chicks hatch. My daughter said that she came into my bedroom to tell me and I responded to her but to this day never remember doing so.
