4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

Ok my computer and cell phone clocks update themselves I cant do anything with them. Would people really cheat   I just cant imagine any of the sweet people on here doing that .

Sadly, with some of the prizes we are offering, it could happen but I hope not.

ORGANIZERS ~ I am Praying that all notices are updated on the main page of this as I cannot keep up!
But thinking, threads time out as far as updating...so do you have an actual ARTICLE (not just contests) that the info is in?
I just want to make sure I am doing this correct and dont want to miss anything!

 Sorry I just cant follow so much and I am lost and I check it several times a day.

In post 1 there is a link to the article. It says important information here but Gold Feather Members have 60 days that they can edit threads so we are good there too. Thanks for thinking ahead though.

Oregon has some of the most beutifull landscapes , I live in the columbia river gorge area and have mountains and forests and rivers and so much beuty everywhere .

I just took my first trip up the gorge this year back in August on a trip up to Yakima! I loved it. Especially seeing the osprey nests in the channel markers (?) that were close to the freeway.

And I agree this is one of the most beautiful states! And lets not forget the best college football teams!

Bwahaha! We live at the prison. He's major there, so he kind of has to be close. If something goes wrong, he has to be on call 24/7, so living on grounds is easiest. Of course, they're remodeling this house and we are going to be putting an offer in on a new house that's still close, but will be our own. 4 acres of grass and no inmates to mow the lawn... I'm suspecting that'll be enough of an excuse to turn a lot of it into a garden and such, lol.
That would make me pretty nervous.

Ok, I am now confused as to what is going on! I posted a little while back that my freeloader had laid a purple spotted egg, but today (after 3 days of nothing) I got two eggs (one from my BA and one from a RIR) that both had purple spots on them! I can't think of what could be going on and though I'm not really worried about it since I can't see where it's hurting anything, I still wonder what's up? I know the egg I mentioned before was from Freddie the Freeloader (that really is her name) because of the pattern of the spots, or at least, because of the position of the spots on the egg. The purple spots on the other two eggs are around the middle of the egg rather than the bottom like Freddie.

We haven't changed their diet at all, so I can't understand where the purple is coming from. I'd take a pic, but they don't show up on the camera.

Have you looked to see if your hens have gotten their bootys stained with something?

A few of my gals who are just horrible meanies that like to pick on each other around the tail feathers, in an effort to stop them I used blu-kote to paint them and was hoping it might discourage their behavior. I kinda forgot about it until the purple spotted eggs started showing up in the nests. Sure enough just from them rubbing around on things they managed to stain the eggs.

Don't know if that is what is going on with your Freddie the Freeloader (love that name) and other gal but you might want to rule it out.

Good luck!
