i had some eggs that got sent to me with terrible air cells. pretty much half the egg side was air and it moved around. But yesterday, she hatched! so give them a chanceI just checked them. My flashlight isn't very good, but almost all of them have at least dislocated air cells, and at least 2 have ruptured air cells. Two I couldn't tell, so maybe they are ok.
They will have a few days to "rest" so instead of turning them while I wait, I am just going to leave them small side down in the carton. Maybe most will reattach.
I had planned on laying them on their side when incubating (I don't have a turner). Would I be better off leaving them in the carton, and prop up one side and turn them that way instead? Just thinking that would keep the air cell on top, so when the chick grows into it, it is in the right spot? Or am I over thinking this?
Thanks for all your help!![]()
