Okay, so... I thought I had seen an insanely blue egg before but...these Ameraucana eggs that arrived today? WHOA! They are knock-you-out blue. They're SO pretty and darker than I thought. The only thing I can compare them to is Hawaii's water. I'm ecstatic. I also candled them and not even one air cell was detached or even remotely wonky. And the packing? Holy moly...the only thing more secure than these eggs would be Fort Knox and I don't even think that is as secure as the eggs were, lol.

It's going to be tough to wait till Tues to get the eggs started. I recently bought a mini mag LED flashlight and tried it on one of the dark Marans eggs and it worked really well. I sure hope those dark eggs develop so I can have the pleasure of actually seeing what is going on in them.

When I say Hawaii's water they're not that dark (obviously) but the color itself is the same....just a lighter shade of that for the eggshells. They're all exactly the same color, too. GAH I want a camera...6 more days...6 more days. lol

If I had to call them a color I would say pastel aqua-blue?

I made a waterer out of a 5 gallon pail and 4 chicken nipples. The I bought a bucket heater from L&M (our local fleet store) and dropped that right into the bucket. It works great! No more frozen water... I just haul new water out whenever I notice the bucket getting low... It's fantastic!

I would love to see a photo of this please with details on how you made it!

I think someone brought the darn flu home with him or I'm getting it from my PT therapist who doesn't believe in sick days. I'm not happy about this either. I am the biggest baby when it comes to being sick, I got the chills, headache, I'm tired. What the heck, who else is getting this crap.

My eggs didn't come today either...

I was hoping to have them so they could sit for a bit before I put them in the bator...

This is killing me!!!
