Yeah, I didn't keep koi at that time but I know about it. I can't remember what it was called but it was some sort of virus. It would spread with new fish though and I haven't added any new fish since March. and of course I couldn't have just kept koi from petsmart, I had to go out and buy some expensive breeder koi that were offspring of japenese imports. I still have the ones in my 125 gallon tank, and I found 3 survivers in the garage. I'll bring them in and treat them with antibiotics and hope for the best.Sorry to hear about the Koi
I knew someone who was big into them several years ago then something (disease) wipped out nearly 100% across the us in a short timeframe.
I don't know the details but is was something that was spreading out in the world, so ppl's koi would be fine, then dead, w/o outside contact to other koi.
That was 5-10 ish yrs ago (time flies),
Only recently hearing of ppl keeping them again...other than that all I know is they are anywhere from costly to OMG seriously for one fish, ohhhh...
-& on a chicken note - "candled" one more egg (still w/o the granny glasses) saw nothing well saw a lit up clear egg ...

I'd like to keep looking at them with wishful thinking that some will suddenly grow, or that those I'm pretty sure have blood spots or blood rings start veining, but that's not likely to happen
