4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

Just did an official 5-day candling of my eggs and all of them are growing beautifully! I'm staying more hands off for a few days, till day ten, when I'll candle again. *bounces off to bed now*

they are ready to eat around 1 1/2 yrs old. I think most people have them as pets on here. From what Ive read, they are like a giant chicken and can be "birdbrained", storming though fences if they get spooked.
Why on earth would you eat an adorable Emu?? I want one as a house pet......no there is nothing the matter with me, honest. Okay, having one outside would be fun to, but not as fun.

Jessiey posted picture of a blood ring. It's a gonner. A small number of eggs are clears and stinky too so eggs are being tossed. Others are too dark to tell. Shelshanam thought she had a stinky egg but it was just a dog fart!(post 3635)

OMG I just had an estrogen meltdown, and it's all your fault. Expect a stern letter from my husband explaining how 'she doesn't need anymore fuzzybutts, tyvm'.
Hehehe! Glad you enjoyed it.

I am an enabler.
Those are some adorable ducklings! Love the broody momma too.
Thank'e. She is a sweety. I fear she is going to hate me in the morning, as I'm taking her 5 cute ducklings to their new home. *sniffles*
Those duckie pics are WONDERFUL - almost makes me want to wake up my 5 year old to see..... but I'll wait till the morning! ;) Thank you so much for sharing!
You're welcome. I have a feeling your 5 y/o is going to want a duckling, or two, or maybe three, ah just make it an even dozen.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA! If this doesn't make you want to go out and buy an Emu, I don't know what will. No seriously, this sounds like so much fun!
