we have one Americauna that is 5.5 weeks. We bought her straight run. Can anyone help identify if roo or hen?

name is Mary Ellen Carter, and s(he) is really turning out to be a pretty chicken.

I'm gonna vote pullet, but I'm a newbie, so I really don't know. Maybe too early to tell, but based on the pale comb and no wattles that I can see that's my vote.

Thanks, it seems that’s the consensus. We got five other RIR chicks and I’m almost positive only one is a hen. What’s the best thing to do if you only have one hen?
They should be fine for now since they’re so young. When the cockerels’ hormones kick in though, that one pullet is going to be in trouble. When that happens, I would get her out of there as soon as possible. The cockerels may settle down if there are no pullets in there, or they might not. I would also get some for sure pullets to keep the one girl company when you have to separate her.
