5 day old chick question.

Im heading out to the feed store today when they open at 9, Thx for your help! would you all suggest I separate her from the rest? I read that on one of the threads, which means a second brooder tank and light...etc, which is fine, just want to be sure its needed, I guess she could get trampled when they all start running around like maniacs.
It's up to you whether to separate her or not. It is possible she may get trampled/injured by the other chicks.
Separation can cause some stress, so if that's what you decide and your brooder has room, I would try to rig up a barrier like chicken wire/hardware cloth where she's protected from the others, but they can all see one another. A stuffed animal for her to snuggle with would be good too if she's by herself.

I picked up the vitamin E and B1 then some pedialyte for electrolytes and a separate brooder setup...I had to drive to a different state for the selenium but I found it...no cvs around here had it, so we have 2 doses in her and she looks settled in for now, I gave her a room mate for the night, and I’ll arrange daily play dates with sleep overs to keep everyone familiar with each other...thanks for all your help...first sign of trouble everyone heads here for a reason...you’re all invaluable!!!

Looks like you've got it under control, that's great! Keep us updated on how she's doing.

I didn't see Selenium mentioned in any posts except for yours.
How much of each vitamin are you giving?

To be honest, I would not give a chick that age any Selenium - it's in their feed and if you feel they need more for the uptake of E, then giving her a little scrambled egg would provide plenty.

Selenium can be overdosed and toxic to chickens.

Hey Folks,
So we are 5 days into the vitamin treatment with our wry neck chick and we are not seeing much improvement, any idea how long it takes or is it just a case of it'll take as long as it takes.
Thx

I treated a pullet for wry neck and it took 6 weeks before she was steady enough to come out of her hospital pen.
