Who elso suffers from not "getting" todays math. My poor son is in Algebra and I can't help him....at all. Math was my worst subject. History, Science I'm all over those but math......

I have a 100% average in math this quarter. I think fractions are easy. I possible I could help. I am 7th grade. What grade is your son in? What type of fractions is he learning? Converting into decimals?

Well, today's math is the same as yesterday's math. I would think it's the only school subject that they really can't change. Engish, history, and science they change all the time.

I never got yesterday's math, much less today's!! As long as I can balance my checkbook and count my chickens though, life is good!!!

I do not like nor understand math either. I can usually figure out the gradeschool math but once they get into highschool forget it. That is the one subject I would love to be able to tackle' but can't.

Fractions, percentages and word problems are what killed me. My dad would get sooo mad at me b/c I just couldn't get the gist of how to work the problems. Now when I come across any math problem, my mind immediately sends up a mental block. LOL
I agree with the pp, as long as the checkbook can be balanced and you can count how many chickens (and kids) you have, then life is good.
