5 week-old chicks--blood in box and in feces

Madornato, great news that you got such a quick diagnosis and easy treatment! Even with these meds, your eggs will still be healthier than store-bought! Besides, you have worming to look forward to twice a year....

I have never dealt with cocci (knock on wood), but I know there are a LOT of threads on here about it.
Thank goodness Silkiechicken has the experience!
I'll try to get my mind around the "honey bucket in summer" smell. I assume it means 'very honey-smelling"??

Generally, with coccidiosis, they will develop resistance to the outbreaks as they get older and will not need to be medicated at laying age.

After they're done with the medication, you should give them plain (not flavored) yogurt a couple times a week to help them develop strong healthy intestinal defenses.

I've been collecting quite a few different resources on coccidiosis, so if you really want to read, let me know.
