5 week old lavender orphington - help needed!

I have a 5 week old lavender orphington premium pullet from hatchery. The chick ia feathering out nicely, but this comb is having me question the validity of the sexing. Unfortunately my other lavender chick died early, so I have no comparison. Is anyone familiar with this breed to give me some insight?

It's a bit early to be sure, but it does have a lot of comb for that age. I would check back in a week or two.

Welcome from New Orleans. I hate to bring you bad news, however, I had a French Blue Copper Marans who looked almost exactly like your baby and it turned out to be a cockerel. He was really pretty too.
I hope I am wrong.

Welcome from New Orleans. I hate to bring you bad news, however, I had a French Blue Copper Marans who looked almost exactly like your baby and it turned out to be a cockerel. He was really pretty too.

I've had pullets with unusual large combs before. Got to wait and see!

This was my 'pullet' at 5 weeks.

After a lot of research on other's questionable lavender orpingtons, I've learned the cockerel are slow to mature and often are confusing if a pullet develops early in the comb.
That said, I'm thinking this is a pullet based off of mine that was bigger and red at 5 weeks.
I had 4 incorrectly sexed 'pullets' this season. Grrrrrr.
