Oof. 🤦🏼‍♀️ He's 15 weeks old, so I've put a lot of time, $ & energy into him by this point.
Funny, I Knew I heard someone crowing the other day, but when I went to look for the culprit, they'd all gone silent, and I know on occasion, a hen will crow, so I didn't worry about it.
Now, my husband and I are considering keeping him (🤫 We're not zoned for it, but a neighbor has one, as well) and using him to breed with our BCM hens, to see if we can get dark green, fertilized eggs. If it works, we'll probably keep him and sell the eggs (or chicks). If not, there are several local farms nearby that take roos (not for meat) that we could choose from to regime him. I just feel bad for the one PBE who'll be left in our flock without any siblings.

😂🤣So... Mine is Most Definitely a Rooster. I was replenishing the water/food/bedding in their coop the other day, and I had Spotify playing in the background. The Pussycat Dolls came on (I don't recall what song), and He. Went. OFF!
Five crows in about 3.5 minutes.. He either Really loves, or Really loathes that song, I'm not sure which, but in the name of science, I'm willing to test it out and see if he does it again, and if it's Just to that band, one particular song, or what.
Thankfully, the seller is willing to work with me and we may be trading my roo for another PBE hen. He's always been protective of his sibling (even if he was a bit of a chaotic-neutral creature to the rest of Our flock), but I'm guessing he'll be a good papa to someone else's flock.

I'm honestly thinking an 'egger', too. Olive Egger, to be exact. I noticed he looked a lot like some Olive Egger hens as far as the charcoal coloring, so, I've been looking at a ton of pics of Olive Egger roos and he is identical to some of the ones I've seen. Including comb and body shape. Willow the mystery lol :) :idunno
How did he end up ?
