A few of my eggs are 11-14 days old. Fertility goes down after 10 days but they are still hatchable. Good luck. And you have a BEAUTIFUL rooster. I LOVE his color. I love bantam roosters, I took a pic of my JB roo this morn, though his color isn't as pretty as yours

Thanks, I'm a bit partial to Daryl myself. Being decrowed he cost a bit but was worth it and more. You little guy is sharp looking. I like the contrasting dark and light.

Total of 38 eggs set. 15 Marans from Chiqita and 21 of my mutts

On a sad note, I failed to shut one of the coops last night and this morning found my head roo dead in the doorway. I think an owl must have attempted entry and Good King Henry fought him off but was killed in the fight. Thankfully everyone else was OK, but it feels terrible that it was all my fault. King Henry was the very first egg I ever hatched in the 2011 NYD hatch.

Sorry for your loss. At least he went out doing his job. Do you have any of his eggs to hatch? You could have a King Henry II.

OK, I know I'm late to this show, and REALLY late being a Mother Ducker..

Duck eggs arrived today, and have to pick them up on the way home, I'll set them tomorrow, so I'm 29 days from hatch..

Can I still participate, or is this chicken only (understand not having to wait the extra week for my hatch)..

Set 11 Brahma eggs at 3:30. Well actually 12 were set but we're ignoring the one because it might be a double yolker.
Big egg second to the left.
BTW ignore the two eggs in the first row to the left. One is hatching at an earlier date( if fertile ) and the other is my big egg. I know it's a gamble hatching my big egg but I figure what do I have to lose?

I am picking up some more eggs on my way home today (production Reds) so I can fill that new incubator ... which I surely hope is there when I get home! Otherwise they will be a-waitin' a day, but will set as many as I have room for in the other incubators, I think I have room for almost the whole 2 dozen I already have.
