Well, after my morning, I can only hope my luck improves.

I made myself some breakfast burritos, picked up my fork, and sat down at the table to eat them. Noticed that some of the refried bean mixture was on the fork and went to lick it off...only to discover that a) my fork was still on the counter and b) the teenage nephew had opened up a can of cat food for the critters and left the fork sitting on the counter where mine was.

Ugh. Ack. Pthewie. Not enough hot sauce in the world to get rid of the lingering flavor of tuna "surprise".

OMG!!! Too stinking funny!!

Highly recommend folks that have several different hatching day ..Build yourself one one these incubators..Used the hot water heater or whatever you can..But this way you keep to different humidity .Mine keeps temps just as good as the Hova,,,Peace....

Do you have a thread out there showing how you made your hatcher and what you used? It looks great. I have the incubator but my turner looks a touch different. By chance do you know if there is a way to turn the fan off in the 1588 but still have the heat on, kind of turn it into a still air for the last 3 days?

In my excitement of hearing peeps - I didn't give any important info!!

Day 20 for me (sorry Roostereggs - I forgot I set earlier than you in the end because the eggs were sent 2 days earlier than expected)
Shipped Araucana eggs, 12 set under broody - one eaten by chooks prior to day 7. Days 15, 16 & 17 very hot - day 16 reached 44C (111.2F) Chicken aircon installed in the hope of keeping them viable. I had almost given up hope.
Peeps very quiet - so I assume they are internal pips getting ready for the big push tomorrow. Fingers crossed something gets out of the shell for Nell's sake.

my mom calls all our chickens MY chickens....which I like. she says she hates the roosters and only likes the hens bc they lay. so they are mine as long as I give her eggs.....

what made her grumpy was putting m hens first 7 eggs in my bator....then she said im cooking the eggs to get more chickens! LOL




she only eats our eggs if they are baked in something.....she cant stand fertile eggs.

once I told her the bullseye trick she almost puke making eggs for breakfast. another reason why she hates my roosters. LOL

My mom use to hatch ring neck pheasants and guineas when I was small and that smell is locked in my memory or something, just turns my stomach. I still LOVE getting eggs though to share or whatever.

I need to find someone that can help me build a bigger coop! This is addictive and I want to do more of it!   The only thing that is inhibiting me is the size of my housing for them. :/

hahaha! I hate scrambled eggs....now that you said it smells like the bator....that's exactly why I don't like them! I couldn't link the two together for some reason! LOL!!!!! hahahahh

is it just me or does any1 else have gifts under tree for chickens,dogs,cats (pets)? got my chickens a hanging planter for run to fill with treat flowers in spring

trust me.....we have probably 15 extra stockings for our pets. I got my chickens meal worms......their surprise is coming on new years....I don't think they'll like them though!!! hahahah
