No visual pests and am going to give Ivomec inj to the flock soon but in the meantime this looks ouchy. Have another hen with raw spots on her back and assumed it was the disable Roo (with trimmed nails/spurs) managing to scrape her. This bird acts/eats normal but she has always been overweight ( 10 lbs and no way to reduce her feed unless she has her own area and won't do that with my schedule now) so something systemic? I feel the need to soak her hoping to soothe it but ?

Could it be feather mites or lice? Permethrin 10% spray or the garden dust would treat that. She also may be lying in a moist area of bedding in her coop, instead of roosting, which could be irritating.
Before dusting or spraying, you could give her a warm bath in epsom salts and then rinse her in water. Here are some good links with pictures of the various types of lice and mites:

I will have to assume its a pest but I can't SEE anything on her so far. I have seen live/mites before and thats not being noticed on any of the hens/roo. She roosts normal (at night) but could be lying someplace wet during day so....I will epsom bathe/rinse then give them all a dusting asap. I will look at the links (gross!) just for curiosity sake tho! Thanks.

If it isn't parasites or from lying on wet ground, then I would suspect one of the other is pulling out her feathers. Nustock cream would be good to soothe and heal her skin, if it is from pecked feathers. It also has a pine and sulfur taste that others don't like.

Call around for it to save some time. Southern States co-op carried it locally near Huntington, but the store closed. It is available online plus shipping. I don't recall seeing it at TSC, but Rural King might.
