I'm obviously a terrible "broody" in that case.Of course. That’s what makes a good broody = hatches lots of girls.

Lol! Yeah…the universe hates us sometimes, huh?I'm obviously a terrible "broody" in that case.
The first picture with the arrow pointing to it looks like a Welsummer Pullet. If it is a Welsummer, the egg will be brown and speckled.@TheOddOneOut since you seem knowledgable about Ameraucanas... Do either of these look like that actually are? I'm guessing not the white one since she doesn't have the muffs and beard? The darker one does and the buff one is apparently an Ameraucanas/buff orps mix. I have yet to see any blue eggs in my coop. So either they're just not laying because they're new/changing season/some other factor, or they're just not laying blue eggs. Which would again, make me really annoyed. Lol
Little boys are real charmers when they're babies. I actually weigh that against them when it's questionable. Of our home hatches, the boys are always happy to greet me and crawl all over me, while the girls will hang back and do their own thing. My daughter will be so annoyed. The ones she always picks the names of because they're her favorite end up being boys. (In this case Granite) though I'm going to be quite disappointed if every faverolles mix I hatched is a boy! What a pain.
We just butchered 6 of our 4 month old cockerels yesterday and it was just so sad... Hatching a bunch of chicks and having mostly boys is not something I was fully prepared for!
It has muffs and is not a pullet, but an older laying hen.The first picture with the arrow pointing to it looks like a Welsummer Pullet. If it is a Welsummer, the egg will be brown and speckled.
These are the eggs I've gotten so far. (Some eggs in the second picture are the same as the first just in my fridge with different lighting, haha)The first picture with the arrow pointing to it looks like a Welsummer Pullet. If it is a Welsummer, the egg will be brown and speckled.
Some of them are definitely all over me. Lol. It's like they're trying to make sure I fall in love with them so I won't eat them later. But unfortunately I can't keep all the boys. I currently have 2 lavender Orpington cockerels who are about 4-5 months old. And so far they have shown no signs of aggression to me or the hens. They are calm. And they don't fight with each other, so I'll keep both as long as they continue to be good boys.Little boys are real charmers when they're babies. Do you have updated pictures of Opal?Hi there, I have 12 chicks right now that I'm trying to figure out the sex on. There are a couple I'm pretty sure one way or another, but looking for confirmation on those and if anyone can tell on the others yet. I have more than one picture for a couple of them.
If it helps, Hazel, Olive and Ruby are salmon faverolles possibly mixed with ameraucana. Ruby is about 2 weeks older than the others of the same breed. Flower is salmon faverolles/Andalusian mix. Willow is Andalusian. Opal is a buff/lavender Orpington mix. Granite, Rocky and Pepper are all barred rocks. Chickmonk is an ameracauna and I'm missing pictures of Onyx (she's a black EE and I'm pretty sure female. Also pretty sure Opal is female. And I am missing pictures of another ameracauna who is too fast for me to get a good pic of!)
