The main reason for not offering oyster shell at this stage is that the calcium can be too much for their systems and in the Cornish X it can cause leg and joint issues. Same goes for laying mash ... too much calcium and phosphorus. You can offer a little parakeet grit if you want, or if you continue to use the oyster shell, just add a little bit to their feed every few days and don't offer it free choice. You should be fine doing that.
