6 month old Ameraucana not laying yet?

Should I be concerned that my 6 month old (BROWN RED) Ameraucana,is not laying yet?
She doesn't have a very bright red comb, but she does surender when I pick her up.
About 1 months ago she showed signs of laying,but they have seemed to of gone away??

Should I be concerned??

i had something like that with my ameraucana. I later found out that they are slower to mature and usually don't start laying until 8 months old. that's what mine did. so you may have a little while until she starts to lay. she might start early or late.

Ditto that on ameraucanas being late bloomers. I've had ameraucana mixes that did not start laying until 7 and 8 months old.

I have some EEs start at 4 months while her sister (from same hen/roo) wont fire up until 8 or even 12 months old.

you could always check the spacing of her hip bones. If you can fit two fingers between them, then she's getting close.

My black Ameraucana pullets started laying eggs at ten months of age; they produced eggs that first spring, and then quit. Beautiful birds, terrible egg producers. EEs do much better!!!
