6 possibly 7 Ducks WITH BUMBLEFOOT! HELP!

I have seen chickens with it so....

if the scab was as big as it looks in that pic wouldn't it be REALLY swollen and huge at that stage?? that more so looks like a bullseye type of mark, not like "the black spot" bumblefoot has.

it's not a scab... it's just a bump from walking on the rocks in the yard. I've never seen bumblefoot, so I dunno.

Bleenie I've been meaning to contact you.. gonna pm you right now.

lol, this is the duck forum, no chickening out allowed

What is weird is that they all got it suddenly....They were fine the other day, and free ranging today they were walking around fine. But the one duckling almost looked like he/she was dead...I walked up to he/she and it didn't move at all until I picked it up and saw the bumblefoot.

We lanced the areas on everyone, washed it out with saline, put antibiotics on it and put a sterile pad soaked with epsom salts and iodine over the area. Vet wrapped it and everyone seems OK with that.

callouses are different form bumble foot. Callous are normal knobs on the feet like any callous a human coud get on their feet from walking on hard surfaces... bumblefoot usually has a scab and has infected puss inside of the bump. I think Duck_feeder wrote a really good step by step for cleaning bumbly feet. I'll have to look for it again, but i will have to do so tomorrow, it's way past my bedtime now!
