In my opinion, the video of the balloon "escaping" is probably the worst acting I have ever seen in my life. On that alone, how could *anyone* believe that this was not totally bogus? It is so obviously fake, it is laughable (unless that is footage they really filmed at a different time and it is not being reported accurately).
I also find it nearly impossible to believe that anyone, especially someone that is even an "amateur scientist" would believe that flimsy balloon could lift a child into the air. I mean the thing was paper thin. If a child was in it, would you not see some sort of extreme sagging and movement where the child was inside? You would see that if even something weighing a few pounds was in there. Seriously, again- it is laughable that they would *really* believe that. Ludicrous.
That combined with the appearance in which the child says they did it for the show makes them appear to be guilty as charged. Based on the other questions in the conversation, the boy clearly knew they were talking about the incident, not the reporters in the yard. I don't mean there is a small amount of doubt. I mean they look guilty as heck. I think there is about a .00000000000000000000000000001 chance this was not staged.
