6 year old stuck in a balloon flying through the air

Alderden also said authorities are concerned about the safety of the three children, ages 6, 8 and 10. In fact, authorities spoke with Mayumi Heene "at length about domestic violence" and the children's safety, Alderden said. "But we didn't have enough that would allow us or Child Protection Services to physically take the kids from that environment."

There was a 911 call from the home earlier this year that led authorities to a "suspicious circumstance" that Alderden said may have involved "domestic violence, perhaps against the wife."

mmmm....There are just so many pieces in this case that give me pause. But there is still the chance, no matter how slight and unlikely, that the parents are being truthful. So, I am trying to withhold judgment.

What kind of parents try to get their kids to lie about something so serious just to try to get a reality TV show? I hope they have to do time in jail for wasteing resources.

sad thing is, they will probably get their reality TV show because of this. Scary to think, people will watch it too. for some reason, people like watching train wrecks. I don't watch reality TV anymore, I used to watch Survivor, but now even that make me sick. Until everyone stops watching stuff like that though, they will continue to put it out and push the envelope of taste further. Just the commercial for Intervention makes me want to vomit, I can't imagine how disgusting the show is.

The parents are getting charges filed against them as of this morning and are going to get a bill from all of the emergency crews and all involved in the "rescue" of their child.

They said this morning that it was to land their own "reality show".

Sad that people will go to those extremes.......

Those poor little boys.

As a parent I can't imagine forcing my child to lie, or pretending she was in terrible danger for any reason at all.

At a news conference Sunday, the Larimer County sheriff, Jim Alderden, said that the entire series of events had been an elaborate hoax drummed up by the Heenes to gain attention.

Among the charges the Heenes might face, the sheriff said, are three felonies: conspiracy to commit a crime, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and attempt to influence a public servant. The last carries a possible prison term of six years.
