I have some hummingbird x bald eagle eggs. I bout them at target on sale lol

Were they the ones in the all most out of date bin?

Set them on the chicken set day for the hatch, 12-11.

some bantams hatch a day early but not all of them and we really love to see the early hatches...well some of us kind of freak out and think all of ours have died....

That'll teach me not to drink and read!!     I read that while taking a drink and snorted my tea.

This is why the hatch a longs are fun...you get to meet new people who crack you up!

So I gave 5 eggs to my sizzle broody. I know they won't count for the hatch a long but I am going to keep you all updated on their progress anyway.

I could not find local cochin eggs or silkie eggs in a color I wanted so I went with eggs from my this silkie and this cockerel...She is so hard to see in the outdoor pics with her head down and her bum to the camera so here she is in what is her natural state lol.

He is from a MF D'Uccle egg fertilized by a white silkie.



The silver girl is his sister. Her face is turned from the camera.

I love love love my Seramas!!!  I was just longing to hatch more... but no eggs : (

Marans are cool too.

I was supposed to set a group of BLRW yesterday, but I got distracted... I'm going to put them in today. This will force me to set my NYD hatch eggs late, which is ok as we travel over New Years and I am NOT bringing the incubator in the car again! My Eggies will remain safely at home and hatch a day or 2 after everyone else's.

Off to the Italian Market to do some shopping for turkey day!

So excited...I found some bantam cochin eggs (although I have to have them shipped, praying they survive the cold!!), I picked out an incubator that is newbie friendly, my brooder design is coming together AND the final piece was to convince my DH that this was a good idea. Success!!

Are we keeping a secret this year on how many eggs EE are going to set? I don't really know myself right now how many that I'm going to set.
