And this is day 28 for the ducks?

Yep. The others I have hatched were out a day early so I don't know. They were all good at lock down. I will say this though.... I don't like the duck eggs in the turner. I will do them by hand from now on.

Not all fluffed up yet, this was the first sizzle out. Check out those feathered feet! They will be so much cuter tomorrow.

Group shot of what I have in the brooder. You can see the separated part my DH made. The little sizzle I just took a photo of above is on the bottom of the picture. Not sure what that coloring is, but it's pretty. Also, looks as though I have a paddle walker...lol.will have to watch that and make sure it isn't splayed, but I don't think it is, it is just trying to learn how to get up on it's feet. You can see the one that hatched last night, all fluffy at the left top part of the picture. One of the SG sizzles is leaning on it. We will see if these will all sizzle out, they don't always. In this photo..three EE's, and two sizzles. In the bator, anther EE and two sizzles.

Little "Solo" -- the lone egg in the incubator -- has decided to be a chick (eventually)



Now, before or after midnight? That is the question....



The eBay eggs go into lockdown tonight, so (hopefully) Solo won't be for long.

Woot!!! I was staring at the no action in my bator and guess what? The Jedi mind trick works!!! One of the eggs started singing!!!

Hmmm, I wonder if that would for me?

Went out and emptied/sanitized my brooder.. Poor thing is cracked to pieces, and one hen-sized hole is closed up with duct tape from where I made a broody nest last summer.

I really may need to part the Rubbermaid purse a bit and get a new one. But oh well, long as it's still got walls the chicks won't mind..

Got my feeders/waterers soaking in hot bleach/Dawn water.. Will scrub them up later. At least THAT part I can do indoors in the tub! Brr it's chilly outside.
