To update.. I left the house for an hour and a half.. Came back and my chicks had tripled, from three to six- including the yellow-membrane one. No idea which one that is but all look just fine.
One to go and I'll have a 100% lockdown-to-hatch rate. I'm getting the hang of this!!!!!
I got some Lavender Marans. They are very pretty.Excellent!! He does pack very well. What kind? LOVE all his birds!
I got some brahma eggs from him last summer (I'm in GA).. All developed but I killed them :dohI got some Lavender Marans. They are very pretty. I really, really want some of his Gold/Blue Partridge Brahmas for the Easter HAL.

I think packaging, and how the postal service handles them are more important than how far they travel. They were the best hatch rate out of 4 sets of shipped eggs. They did have the best packaging, and a heat pack, but if the box gets tossed around, then even the best packaging won't protect them completely. I got 7 eggs from LA, which is half the distance, that all had wibbly wobbly air cells, and none developed. I was super sad about those, they were Pencil Rocks. I had another set that had no development, either. It's just a roll of the dice with shipped eggs. I hope yours arrive safely! That's awesome! That gives me hope for my eggs that I just set yesterday from Oregon to South Texas.
