6th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2015 Hatch-A-Long

I am new to the chicken world as this is my first winter with chickens. I have 11 in my coop now and is love to embark on this journey with you guys! Just hope i can get my little eggs to hatch!

Welcome Aboard!! This is an awesome way to spend the holidays, it helps distract me from the stress. And there are lots of seasoned veterans here to help you with any and all questions too!

Well, stand by... My four breeders were vaccinated! There is HOPE!

We're waiting for a 100% diagnosis (none of this, "Well, I *think* it's this" nonsense) before I make any decision... It could be an irritated injury. The bird has no respiratory distress (not to say it can't progress to that), but the chronic respiratory stuff is kinda required for it to be mycoplasma.

Anyway! Not to derail this great thread with my drama.... But I will update (and may get hatching eggs ANYWAY!).

Still hunting for some local Bantam Cochin eggs for this hatch. Unfortunately where I live, I can only have 4 hens so I am being picky about what I want to hatch since I can keep so few.....stresses me out to try and rehome chickens

I have found some that are crossed with frizzle, but still am looking for smooth

or maybe Cochin/silkie cross? Oh, I hope I can find some!!!!!
