6th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2015 Hatch-A-Long

I'm in! This is perfect timing. I have 12 eggs hatching 9Th-10Th. As long as i don't have any slackers it will give me time to wash the incubator and get more cooking for the hatch along. I started collecting eggs tonight.

Hey thre!!! Can i join???I am getting my inubator in the next 3 days....then will set on the 11th!!! How do i join or whatever??

and today I got a 4th different color/shape egg so apparently another hen has decided to make herself useful,
so I now have collected 11 of my own. I believe the need for a new incubator greatly out weighs the desire for an auto-turner at this point!

So I've been using 2nd hand LG bators, & I've gotten pretty used to their er, quirks , so I see the same basic thing at TSC for 49.99 then I notice it appears to be digital,
ah, can anyone tell me will it work just like my old ones or is the "safe bet" of getting a new one"just like the old ones" going to be a learning adventure all over again??
& can anyone tell me if it will be ruined by the frequent brown outs/power fluctuations etc of my local not so great electrical coop...eeek, digital really...

its the lg 9300. I have 1 and have had some good and some bad hatches. It will not work like the older 9200. The heating element in the 9300 is only 4inches square. Imho it needs a fan kit

Wow, that sounds like some of my hatches in the past. This last hatch, I only hatched 4 out of 24. But external issues were a big factor.

The great thing is all 4 of them are pullets!!! woohoo!!!

well violet is being very cooperative for the hatch along she laid another egg today I'll test for fertility and keep my fingers cross

We usually do have a prize for worst hatch. It is part of the best hatch so will be for egg set to hatch on Dec. 31st.

At least you have two though. It is sad when only one hatches.
