It was a joke!
The egg cannot be incubated if it is cracked open. The egg can be incubated for three to five days and candle it to see if it is fertile. After the rooster has been with them for two weeks, just run a test hatch.
If I can not risk the eggs by cracking them, then I just put them in the incubator. I'm not opposed to candling the whole chicken, I just don't have a big enough flashlight.

I just got news that my dad also ordered the JN-92 so now I weill have the JN-48 and JN-92 so I will be able to hatch 48 chicks a week!!!

LOL!Getting so excited for the set date!!! I'm starting to collect eggs for the H-A-L today. I was only gonna do a couple but I was talking to a guy at work and he wants some of them so now I can set a lot more. He is gonna take as many as I wanna give up. I told my youngest daughter and she said he can't have any! They must be teaching chicken math at her school lol
