so I set the eggs at noon and they been in for 2 1/2 hours the temp is stabilized now at 99.5 and the humidity is 35 from what I read I expected a more drastic temp change in the next 24 hours as the egg temps stabilized to the bator.. should I just be happy is this normal am I lucky my bator is doing its thing so effectively?

It depends on your incubator.

Got my eggs in the bator a couple hours ago! I'm ready for my first BYC New Years hatch a long!!!

So yeah. I was literailly 4 minutes away from doing a nyd hatch. Set 4 eggs under my broody then took them out because i cant take the stress of doing a broody winter hatch. Makes me so sad. Id love to, but i cant move my hen to the broody coop because its way too cold and i cant just leave her in the coop with the other chickens and my roo....

You still have a day or so to reconsider....Just saying...cute little fuzzy butts to start the New Year off!

Well it is unclear if I am going to be able to participate...my eggs are MIA. USPS has no clue where they are. They shipped on Monday from Arkansas and have not updated since.

I'm so bummed. I guess my first time hatching will be postponed to a later date.

I have a box out too...still have tomorrow and Sat..and you can participate just as well. Your babies will just be a couple of days late...or, maybe a couple will hatch early...who knows. But my guess is we get our box's tomorrow. Mine was also shipped on Mon. Last scan, was in the same state they were coming from. :/

Man, we had the wind! Pretty good micro bursts going on. I worry about power outage when it's like that. :/ It's finally slowed down. One of my girls was just a talkin about it.
