Hurray!!! That is very eggciting!Oh, trying to ID the chicks which hatch is going to be great good fun, I think between the 3 flocks there are about 20 different breeds!

I HAVE A PIP -- No not the NYD HAL batch, the I couldn't wait & had the new bator hot for duck eggs I didn't get batch!
so this pip is about 24 hrs ahead of schedule (I set midnight dec3, when I found out about no duck eggs & was staring at 96+ eggs getting old)
Funny thing cree57i, this pip is not from your flock or mine, it is from the other eggs, a light brown, rather pinkish, med-large egg wins for 1st pip.
I was sitting here between the snoring dogs making a seed wish list when I heard that distinctive little chirp from the next room.
So I have NOT added ANY water! But we have been in pea soup fog AND raining for over 24hrs...this is a new one on me, should I add water or hold tight??!!
I'm leaning toward hold tight b/c we have standing water around the house & we are on a mountainside, it is THAT wet/humid. I'm thinking just the eggs themselves will add enough inside the bator as if it needs any. (I did pull out the 1 plug I had in when I saw the pip, so both vents are open now).
