LOL that's me! I entertained the possibility of a DYI incubator but until I get more than 3 or 4 birds out of 24, I'm not even gonna bother with that!

By the way, when is it socially acceptable to start dropping hints that it's time for everyone to leave? LOL Dinner is done and over, I'm exhausted and it's time for the after turkey nap!!!

Oh! And I made my first microwaved turkey! A full bird baked in the microwave and it came out great!!! Our oven went out and we haven't had the money to get it replaced so I had to break down and try it in the microwave! I'm truly impressed with the results!!!

Yeah. It's a still-air. I might get a fan kit, or maybe just save up for a nice incubator. I think the thermostat on this one might not work great. Like I said, it will be fine for 2 days, then there will be a temp spike.

Oh I love your birds. I have some Barred Rocks in my HAL..they were set a day later than the origanal set date, but excited, I am hoping they aren't real loud talkers like some of my past, I don't mind the talkers, but some are loud! Guess they want my attention...treats I said! Treats!

Talkers? Never noticed I think I have blocked them out. I have very noisy chickens. They always have a lot to say! LOL! Good luck! I hope my silkies hatch!

The first photo: I am not sure but I think it's a failed egg. It's still in the incubator. I am not sure, so I left it.

Happy holidays, everyone and Merry Christmas. Well, I'm down in my chair. Eaten too much , visited too much, too much noise and I'm done for the day. Had a wonderful time and ready for a nice well earned rest. Santa was extra good to me. One of my favorite presents was a black and white polka dot pair of half rubber boots. Perfect!!!!

Not to be a downer on Christmas, Ron, but today is day 8 on my eggs and I left the top off for way to long. Almost 4 hrs. It's hot in my room so it got down to 70 and stayed with humidity of 37%.. Have I damaged them? Hope not!!!!

I forgot to plug in the incubator after the cooling period this morning.

It'll be a X-Mas Miracle if any of these eggs make it! LOL!

I bet they will be okay! I am amazed what eggs can endure. I don't do the cool down period because I know I would forget about them. I would need to set a timer. I get distracted too easily around here. Yesterday I was going to come inside to get my stapler to staple down some netting in the turkey pen, but got distracted and forgot. When I got home at midnight last night I was missing a turkey hen! I finally found her in a corner of the garden... thankfully.
