Well guys my eggs are starting to hatch. My first one is all the way out! And one more is got a nice hole. YAYYYYYY!!!!

Well it's about time!!!! Now relax and enjoy the rest of the hatch.

No basement or dog crate. The two broody hens are in a nest made from an octagon shaped end table with the floor covered with a non-slip rubber type mat and Koop Clean (straw mix) on top of that. The two mamas together are putting out a lot of heat. When I checked the eggs over the past few days they were very warm. I will try to get a picture of the set up. I'm about to go out and check on them.

If the chicks can't get out I would think they would be fine with 2 mamas in that small of a space as long as it's draft free.

The temp here now is 35 deg and falling, I have two broody hens on my eggs in the coop but when they hatch will I need extra heat or should the mamas take care of that?

The should be ok but like Cynthia posted, They may not know how to stay under Mom yet.

why our hatching egg guru has been positively saintly putting up with a million and one questions.....having to tell ppl to check first page over n over again, panic choas, having to deal with ppl he'd rather ignore and still be polite too I am sure the list goes on
