$7.99 for watermelon!

6.99 for a small one at that.
we grow our own along with cantalope, honey dews, i don't like none of the mellon family except cucumbers, wished i did, but my extended family does so that is why we grow them.
oh and some for our birds too.
The local grocery often cuts a big oblong ones in to 4 quarters and sells each peice for 3.99.

My chickens get the rinds when we eat watermelon. Rinds, and any melons that are starting to go by. They love it and will pick the rinds right down to the outer skin.

Just saw 15 lb. round seedless for $5.99 at the expensive supermarket. That means they're $4.99 or maybe $3.99 at the cheap supermarket.

Round here watermelons are 99c per kg when on sale.
But the nicer ones are around $2-$3 per kg.

I am in so. california right now. the 99 cent only store is selling personal seedless watermelons at .99/ for about 3 pounds. The local Mexican Produce Market sells them for 10 cents a pound. I live in Ohio where a 10 pound melon will cost me 4.99-5.99. Maybe instead of flying home I should take back a truck load of melons.

, but I hadn't bought one in a long time, because I don't really like it, but my new chickens sure do!! They are totally worth it!

$8 - $10+ here. Keep in mind i'm in Louisiana so we have watermelons from the real Sugartown here.
