Slow feathering is genetic, somehow this trait has been rebred in your flock. I would say probably from inbreeding in the original parent stock.

It is not a good trait to have as usually slow feathering pullets are slow to lay.

Well out of the 10 chicks that have hatch out of my original flock only this one has taken it time to feather out. I hope it turns out to be a girl, will patiently wait and see if it crows or lays an egg. I'm pushing for the egg.

Thanks for all the information from everyone. I have learned a lot about chickens from reading all the posts on here.
