Been sitting on my hands since I set the duck eggs. Finally let myself take a peek and all had veining! Excited! Was worried they weren't going to be fertile.

well you won this one.. I just candled all my eggs. only I just took my light and held it behind them while they sat in safe in their turner. And now I'm more anxious because I can't see them very well...

I am hatching my own eggs from by buff brahmas and EE, started collecting 7 days prior, getting a couple a day. Totally new to this, so time will tell. I did buy an auto egg turner and after a lot of research and parts buying, I am assembling a incubator tonight. Wish me luck, I am going to need it !!

@Sally Sunshine, I JUST picked up my faverolle eggs from the post office about ten minutes ago!! Yay for egg deliveries! Hope yours arrives soon.

You are making your own incubator? What kind are you building? I wanted to make one from a cooler, but i didnt trust myself to get it right (ordered the eggs before i made the incubator) so im just going to use my farm innovator one. I still will make my own, just not this go round.

I'll post pictures when I get it finished, hopefully tonight. Currently I have an assortment of parts... Digital thermostat, temp and humidity gauge, egg turner, computer fan, light and heat pad, screen now to put it all together. I am open to any insight others may have to offer. Consistent heating is my biggest concern, how to get it right? I have heard a 40w bulb works, other ideas?
