Nice!
My eggs are rocking! How can I tell if they are malpositioned inside? These are shipped eggs with saddle shaped air cells. Any suggestions?
Let them do their thing--Do not worry about them being mal positioned. Usually, eggs die before they move into position and we make the mistake of saying they were mal positioned.

Hint: if the chick pips at the bottom, it was mal positioned for sure.

So.......it was an Ayam cemani baby that hatched first!!!!!! There is a fibro zipping as I had to leave the house again....

and there were 2 more pips. 1 AC egg and 1 Fibro. Leaving just one AC left....I hope it hatches. And I forgot pictures in my short stay at the house.....I topped off their water and had to leave....I hope they will be okay until tomorrow! Bad timing to hatch babies and make plans. ....I need to do a better job planning next year.

They will be fine!

I don't know what's up with my roosters.

I can leave here at midnight, at 2am at 4am, whatever time in the dark and they are always crowing. And it's dark in there I pull the garage door down...

They make me laugh.
You are waking them up! Of course they will crow then--they want you to come see them

They love you!

It is finally here!!!

And it is loud!! LOL!!! Bonus, four more pips and I actually witnessed on is the pips happen.

(I am having trouble getting the picture to post. So, I will get it up later)
I had to use ear plugs last night--They really like to announce their hatch---Loudly!

Good morning everyone and Happy New Year!
(I guess I forgot to wish it last night...I was so tired, I had my brain turned off I guess...lol)

I'm SO far behind...thought I better post and then go back and catch up!

UPDATE: One little OEGB last night...and 3 Easter Eggers out this morning. 3 are zipping and I see 2 more pips! Picture time!!

Little fellow to the left is the OEGB.
The guy in front with the red head...rooster! I'd bet money on it. My red's are always roosters.
The buff color's from one of the chicks I bought last summer. She's stopped laying at the moment but I'm really happy I have a chick from her!

Nice job!

Heres my 11 out of 12 i hope the last one pips and zips

Nice!

Agreed on shipped eggs results. I've had zero before from shorter distances and that's a huge let down. Now for just 2 good roosters. Hahaha
Lavender Orpington's may be next hatch. Not sure but it will be awhile. Pen space is getting limited
There are a lot of things you cannot control with shipped eggs. You just do the best you can to hatch them.

I skipped 9 pages. Did I miss anything?

@bamadude

You missed everything!

A Pigeon is pipping. Some are not home and one person has an Aunt giving updates. There was a 7 of 7 hatch and a 10 of 11 hatch. Spradle leg has happened to two of us.

There was one assisted hatch picture and one hatcher is worried because they are rocking with no external pips yet. A couple of us had breakfast too!

I am on my second cup of coffee...

Up to 7 pips!!! I am a bit concerned about one of them. I see a small blood spot where the chick pipped. I think it pipped through a vein. Will it be okay? The blood spot is rather tiny...

A bit of blood is common--It is likely fine but make sure the pip is clear--not oozing.

Well, I think my NYD hal is done :) I had 4 beautiful chicks hatch out of the 8 eggs I set. 3 were infertile, 1 was a late quitter. The last one to hatch did so 12 hours after everyone else. and 36 hours after it's pip. LOL. He must have gotten too excited and pipped early, because he bled a little from his navel after he hatched. 100% unassisted hatch! YES! I have 2 grey chicks with peachy legs/beaks, and 2 dark chicks with black legs/beaks. They are so so so pretty!

I was very surprised by the colors as their mums are RIR and dad is a Auraucana silvery splashy barred something or other color. :) I am curious to know if the chicks will have less vertebrae like their pops, or have a full tail like their mum. Can anyone tell from the pictures???

You did very well!

Your fertile hatch was 4/5- Good Job!

I think mine is done also. I set 19 and 10 hatched. I think there is one or two more that could hatch, so I will leave them in for a little while.
