Whoa!! Those are really dirty. No way can you put them in the bator like that!!
You are still going to risk bacteria getting inside if you wash them though. But in my opinion, the lesser of 2 evils in your situation is to wash them in warm water. Not cold it will pull the nasty stuff into the egg. Not too hot, it can damage the embryo. I would ask for some clean replacements from the seller myself.

Thank you! Most of the eggs were pretty clean. This was the worst one. There were 2 others that were dirty, but not too bad.
Yes, you can safely wash them. Use warm water to get the stuff off--the theory is that using water warmer than the egg will not force bacteria into the egg--It's a thermal properties thing.

Then rinse them in a weak bleach solution--1TBL bleach per gallon of water, contact time one minute.

This will not remove the bloom and I have cleaned dirty eggs--they hatched fine for me.

Thank you so much again! I will try that to clean them off. You guys are fantastic! Thank you for all the help!

I'll post pictures when I get it finished, hopefully tonight. Currently I have an assortment of parts... Digital thermostat, temp and humidity gauge, egg turner, computer fan, light and heat pad, screen now to put it all together. I am open to any insight others may have to offer. Consistent heating is my biggest concern, how to get it right? I have heard a 40w bulb works, other ideas?

Yes definitely post pics of your bator! Egg turner...I'm envious!

I plan on making one out of a clear plastic storage container. It'd be large enough to fit egg turners.

My incubator is...(just one moment while I measure it....

) Found it!

It's 17 inches long x 8.5 wide by 12 high at the bottom. I run two 25 watt chandelier bubs. The idea of having two lights is that if one does burn out...all is not lost. And I've actually had that scenario happen. I chose chandelier bulbs because they're skinnier. I did try 2- 40 watt bulbs, but I found the temp jumped a bit too high after the lights cut out. The bator's in the laundry room that I've kept at 74. (It's a cold room when the wind blows and is heated separate from the main house.) I use a 6 inch regular fan I bought from Walmart and I use a wafer thermometer which sits on a small box. High tech...NOT!

I've got baking racks in the bottom covered by a perforated plastic sheet used in crafting. (More high tech)
