Heres some of my babys

I was getting concerned because I haven't seen anything at all yet (I know it's still early) but not even any rocking eggs so I checked my Temps and humidity and takes to my eggs for a minute. They must've got excited because I was taking to them because a couple started wiggling and rocking lol

I've got two pips!! Right next to each other too. The first to pip was the cracked egg that I had put packing tape on. Luckily it pipped on the other side from the tape. I think it will be able to zip about half way and then I'll probably have to help!

Thanks a bunch.  The long-pipped chick pipped early on day 19, so I am not in a hurry to assist.  Since the others are just starting to pip and get started, it would be a LONG time before I could help this chick if it needed it.  I just read the assisted hatching article, and it looks intimidating to me.  I never marked the air cells (but learned a lot since on this hatch-a-long that can help me in the future!).  I don't see the "movement" or "breathing" that you can see through pips, but the egg is positioned a little away from me, easily obstructing the view.  Our pipped egg that hatched after being abandoned by the not-so-broody broody hen unzipped after 24 hours of idle pip. I am just sad because I lost my only fertile Marans egg after pipping and not my BCM is molting :-(

As far as humidity goes, humidity was a problem on my last hatch.  Humidity was low and reservoirs were full, eggs were getting wet and almost all were late quitters.  This time I have wash cloths soaked in water on one end in addition to the full reservoirs.  Humidity is higher and comparable to my first and second hatches (both were extremely successful), but the gauge is still below the "Hatch" humidity marker.  The clear lid is full of water droplets and condensation - but I may need to add a couple of sponges?

Not much is happening right now.  Think I'll go to the gym and swim for a bit to take my mind off of things and hopefully see more progress when I get home.  Nobody is unzipping yet so I don't think I'll miss a thing

If you're going to open the incubator to add sponges or water, then that would be the perfect time to check on that egg. Sometimes I keep a bowl of steaming water right next to the incubator if I have to open it and humidity is being an issue.
