8 eggs in the incubator

I candled last night and pulled 2 quitters., so there are 8 under one broody, 9 under the other. They are due to hatch around the 13th.

I started with 53 eggs (not expecting that great of a fertility rate), but only pulled 11 duds and currently have a full turner of 42... and I just candled my batch (quickly) with a crappy flashlight and I think saw maybe 2 quitters, but I'm going to leave them until lock-down, when I'll candle them all anyway. Day 23/24 (when I normally lock-down, because my keets usually hatch early, day 26) is this coming Monday/Tuesday for my eggs. If I see a lot of eggs have slanted air cells or internal pips then I'll lock-down on day 23, other wise I'll wait until day 24. A few may hatch a little earlier, but most should hatch Thursday/Friday and the stragglers will be done by Saturday.

Good luck everybody

DH was soo glad to hear that one of my chicken customers wants some of the guinea keets when the are well started. I'm only going to sell a couple since we have a large Oak tree that seems to be the center of the tick population. We are desperate for shade out here or I'd cut it down. We will confine the keets in that area during the day once the hens are finished with them.

Ahh, that's why I gave mine to the broodys. That and

I hope they will learn to come in to roost at night by following momma. Much to DH's relief, I have a guy that wants to buy some of them, but I doubt I'll sell very many. There are 17 good eggs. We had almost no winter tho and are already seeing ticks, so DH is just gonna have to suck it up, and wear ear plugs.

Actually, I'm gonna be the one wearing ear plugs, I work mid-night shift, had arm surgery so have been off for awhile, but should be back to work in about 2 more weeks.

I'll be trying to sleep during the day.

I have quite a few external pipits this morning so I hope to have she guineas buy thursday
Sorry for all the typos. That will teach me to try and post from my smart phone. What I was trying to say was I have lots of external PIPS and I hope to have many guineas by Thurs.
I got home from work and had one hatched out and all dried up. It is in my brooder with my one duck that hatched yesterday. I have three more hatching now. These are from the coral blue eggs. I'm going to take a pic now and post soon. I don't know what color I have. The wings are white and the body looks blue but I'm not totally sure. Maybe when I get the photo up someone can tell me what color it is.
