Is 18% protein none medicated starter feed okay? I'm pretty sure her angel wing is related to her muscle development not being as fast as her wing development though.

Your feed is probably fine.

Angel wing is not well understood and poultry experts say many things could cause it.

Would it surprise you to know that I feed all of mine 27% turkey starter and that I have no problems with angel wing, but people that feed 18% starter do have problems with angel wing? I'm not suggesting that you or anyone else start feeding high protein, but instead, I suggest that everyone look at *other* (listed below) possible causes and make sure whatever you're feeding has the proper amount of vitamins and minerals that growing ducks need. Of course, you can't do much if it's genetic.

Probably not a good idea to use this duck for breeding in case it is genetic.

The only reason I ask is that you said it was 'developing' and I know from my own experience I have had ducklings that look to be in the early stages when their wing feathers come in, but then turn out to be fine for whatever reason.
