Do you have a gas stove/oven or some source of wood heat?
Bake some rocks or bricks and put them in the incubator.
87 for over an hour is a bit of an issue if they've been incubating more than a week.
Unless they're white eggs, I wouldn't give up on them.
How many days have they been incubating?
Got 3 batches:
16 days
9 days
2 days
All brown shell no whites.
What was the lowest temperature they hit? I had my cabinet bator go out overnight and the temp drop to mid 60s and most of the eggs STILL hatched. Those eggs act as a great sink and just because the thermometer is reading low, doesn't mean that the middle of the eggs have dropped that low. Keep your chin up and don't give up on them!
wow I seem to have blue ones that have not been fertilized4 clear eggs when I candled last night. All from the same pen. That cockerel had only been in there five days and is young and inexperienced so it's understandable. Still a lot of growing eggs in there.
Well, I guess I should have candled the eggs that spent 3 weeks lost at the post office before I set them. I've had 3 oozers and 1 exploded. I'm going to candle the rest of them tonight to see if there is anything alive in there.![]()
