Do not do that again

That's it.. Never again!!!
I'm too kindhearted.
Yesterday it was so cold out that I took a man into my home out of kindness of my heart. I felt so sorry for him. Poor thing was just standing out in the cold wind shaking so bad. This morning he had just vanished. Not a word. Not even a goodbye or a thank you for sheltering him.
I then realized he had peed all over the living room floor! That's the thank you I get for being good to people.
So I'm warning all my friends to watch out for this guy. He is heavy set, wearing nothing but a scarf, he has a nose that looks like a carrot, two black eyes, and his arms are so skinny they look like sticks. Don't bring him into your house!
Hope this made you smile like me...
Merry Christmas!

I absolutely LOVE my Brinsea. I love it so much I bought a second one. I hate the rails, I prefer to just stagger the eggs and fit in as many as possible. I cut the little foamy pieces into sections big enough to prop up any small eggs, or the ends of each row. I also HATE cleaning the top of the Brinsea. You need to take out 14 screws, I always seem to put it back on backwards, have to take it off again, and turn it around. That is WAY too many screws. The fans inside the top are tough to clean as well

But I love the humidity pump - it makes it hands off for me. I just have to make sure the reservoir doesn't empty. I also found out the table the bator is sitting on is not quite level, so the water just pours out. It has to be perfectly level. I went from hatching 50 - 70% in my LG, to 95 -100% on my own eggs (when I had a rooster) and 70 - 90 % for shipped eggs. My LG I could never keep the water levels even - there was either way too much, but it dried out too fast. I would have to add water 2 to 3 times per day. I hated that. Now, I fill the water bucket maybe 2 times per hatch.

I still have the LG, and I will use it some times when I have staggered hatches, I"ll move out the early eggs over to the LG, hatch in the Brinsea, clean it and move the eggs back over.

I like you idea of taking those racks out. Easier to turn I'm sure!

So, you think that keeping the humidity level...ummm...level, is really important even in the early stages? I find that doing it low has worked both ways in hatching. Some good, some not. :/

Why I wrote Brinsea...I will never know...lol.
Wow, you are super high tech there. WAY beyond my knowledge base. Lovely setup and lovely view!
In my mind I was thinking this type of thermometer...

Barring a temperature spike or something major...the embryos are pretty darn amazing and can make it through a lot of stuff. It's best not to sweat the small stuff. If the eggs are meant to hatch, they'll usually hatch. Sometimes they just aren't meant to hatch and it's unfortunate when that happens. Every hatch is more experience to apply to the next hatch.
