So I have a question... Searching for chicken memes I've seen alot of things about big time hatcheries taking ALL the male chicks and sending them into a meat grinder alive, is this really true? I mean it cant be right? How eles could your order males still?

@ronott1 I was wondering about that...putting the information somewhere where people can find it. I don't know anything about doing an article?
I'm not that great at even finding stuff in the articles. I haven't navigated that area enough.

You're talking about the learning center, right?

Yes!

before Chirstmas I helped judge an article contest. I am sure they will be running another contest for articles too.

It's true. These chicks are saved for pullet orders. I'm sure they save some males for future babies.

Yes!

That is the purpose of breeding sexlinked chicks--destroy them at hatch. It is one of the reasons why I hatch my own--then I eat the cockerels.

Thats horrible!! Theres gotta be a better way, I will never buy from a hatchery never ever ever!!!

Like ron said, this is why we like to hatch. Besides the fact, that it's fun to see and have the little ones, but I find that when I hatch a sexlink from someone that raises them, they lay longer. So do the leghorns.
