Love the chick with the boots. I just found this thread, very interesting read. My eggs hatched on the 28th of December. I started with 8 eggs, day 7 candle shows one dead. At lock down i had 7 eggs. I had 5 hatch, one didn't make it and another one drowned because i forgot to put marbles in the water. I even new better, so i was pretty upset with myself.
Now these eggs i won the bid on ebay, they were shipped from Wisconsin. I'm in Prescott AZ at 5k ft. So it was a gamble.

Most of these were raised in cages, some indoors. Some the kids outgrew them...some just didn't fit the household. One must've been illegal in a rented home and I've never had anyone make a transaction so fast with me!

As we pulled away I think the landlord was pulling up!

I bring them home, and keep them like they're used to and get them settled in. Then I acclimatize them to everything and they seem to live happily. They get the foods they were eating...it takes them a while to eat new foods like hay and grain and such. They're all used to rabbit pellets. But they're super smart and catch on right away to us feeding them outdoors. They also catch on to all the delicious hay dropped by the feed machine and the grain that's spilled. They run right up to me in the open to get food. Some stay in the sheds, some are in the barn and some still stay in their houses in their pens...lol They're ALL over. I see today they brought the baby bunnies up to the house.

Same with cats we take in. We just took in a 14 year old house cat last year because they were going to put her down. She'd been outside twice I think. She's thriving and shows no intentions of wanting inside! Lovely cat!
