I have a mixed flock of 10 pullets and 1 roo. The pullets include 2 Easter Eggers (that were labeled Amerucanas....).

The other day I went to collect the eggs and I found 10 eggs (woo hoo! it was the most eggs I have found since they began laying). However 9 were brown and 1 was the Easter Egger blue... So I am not sure if I should assume one of my gals gave me 2 eggs OR if one of my Eggers is also giving me brown eggs. I looked to see if any were more of a pink but they are all definitely brown.

So is it possible for Eggers to give brown eggs? Or is it more probable that one of my Eggers is mixed with a brown egg gene?

Thanks for any input!

Yes it's possible for EEs to throw brown eggs. In general they were bred to lay more colorful blue eggs but it's not unheard of them throwing brown due to their mixed heritage.
