I was out putting the chickens up for the night/ collecting the eggs, and I found 9 eggs! 9! And I didn’t miss one yesterday or the day before either. They lay 8 every day. Is this normal? I’ve heard that it’s impossible, but it’s not the first time this has happened to me...

Perhaps you did miss an egg? And the chickens brought it into the nesting box/boxes when you weren't there? Otherwise, all I can say is that's one good layin' flock!

They can lay one extra early and one late...2 eggs in one day. Over the years I have had that happen several times.

Are these all pullets? I have had extras from pullets, but they slow down as hens. Isn't average 1 egg every 26 hours?

It is possible for a good layer to lay 2 eggs in 1 day occasionally. If it becomes more frequent you may want to make sure she has a good calcium supplement so that the egg shells and her bones stay strong.
